Haircut success!
I have to get some cute pictures up of Luc's new haircut, but first I just have to write about how well the cutting process went.
Lucas has had about 9 haircuts in his life and all but the first have been terrible. He screamed and cried the whole time. He would move his head around and try to get out of the chair. Nothing I could do or say would calm him down. We even tried haircuts at home with no success. The poor little guy was just terribly afraid.
So, I've let his hair get pretty long, but it was just ridiculous lately. I started talking about a haircut a few days before the event. Each time he would get really upset and didn't even want to talk about it. On Monday I thought that we were ready and we went to Fantastic Sam's. He got a bit scared when they sprayed water on his hair, but I tried to talk calmly to him and then I covered his eyes. That did the trick. I stayed next to him with Amanda in one arm and the other hand over Luc's face the whole time. He didn't cry but just wanted it to be finished.
I was so relieved that we finally found a way to get this done without too much trauma.

It's been a while since I've posted. I've posted a few things to another site I've been testing out:
http://maureencrouse.blogspot.com
Nothing new to report. THe kids are healthy and alternate between adorable and cranky. Lucas is enjoying school and AManda has spent a few mornings over at Aunt Kerri's so I can dig into work and make sure I stay on top of billing and customer calls.
Amanda is starting to show signs of pickiness when it comes to eating, but we are really trying to not stress out about it like we did with Lucas.
Another development is that we are trying to get our house cleaned up so that we can put it up for sale. I really would like to move to Thousand Oaks so I think we might try to make a move soon.Comments:Add a comment:

The Library! Why didn't we do it before?
I took the kids out to the library here and Moorpark to get a library card. It was great. Lucas chose 4 books to bring home and I got a few for myself. I loved the library as a kid and one of my first jobs was working in a library. I always loved it, but I never felt Luc was ready so we always bought books from the bookstore. I think I could get used to the extra money this will save.
They have a storytime on Tuesday late morning, which is perfect -- Lucas is home from school and it is the time I usually take off work for lunch and errands.Comments:Add a comment:
