Luc is cool, man!
He is learning so many new things and I think some of his separation anxiety is starting to subside a bit.
He knows where his ears, belly and hair are. He can close his eyes when you tell him to. He loves to go brush his teeth every morning and night. He knows what the cow, pig, monkey, owl, lion, cat, and bird say. He understands when you tell him that it's time for "jammies" and he'll toddle back to his room to help me pick something out. I could go on and on.... I am amazed at how quickly he changes every day.
Only two real issues we're dealing with now. One is nightly waking, which we still haven't figured out how to handle. The other is eating habits, which Phil and I will just have to learn to deal with. It's a battle we will not (and aren't supposed to) win. But it is so very hard for us, as Luc's parents, to let go of that control.
Luc is learning to be independant and is showing that even if he is a little hungry, he has control over at least one aspect in his life. I'm the one with the problem, not him, and I've just got to figure out how to relax!

Luc is really getting the hang of this "no" thing.
If he is out of my eyesight and about to go somewhere he's not allowed (next to the piano where the light is) I'll hear him saying "no, no, no!". He gives himself away almost every time!
He has also taken a liking to running around the house. After work, he and I will just chase each other around the house yelling (he loves to yell). I wonder what the neighbors think?

It wasn't too much broccoli, it was an ear infection!
Poor Luc... we took him to the doctor Saturday morning and he had a pretty bad ear infection. He was miserable most of the weekend. Who wouldn't be when they are awakened at 2 a.m. with a 104.9 temperature and placed in a cool bath?
Luc and I spent the day together yesterday and he was feeling a little bit better.
Today he is probably about 80% and should be 100% by Friday.
My little guy is just the cutest thing, though, and I wish I could fix it so he would never get another ear infection again.!Comments:Add a comment:

Luc ate too much broccoli last night and he had a tummy ache:(
He ate a really big dinner and seemed pretty happy. But about 30 minutes after going to bed, he woke up and was quite unhappy. He was up for about an hour and a half crying. He just couldn't get comfortable. Poor little guy.
He's fine today.
Luc is home with me because his daycare is closed. I love getting to spend more time with him.

Just a quick note about our weekend.
We took Luc to the beach on Saturday afternoon and he had a great time. We walked past the place where Phil and I had our wedding reception and discovered it has been totally re-done (and renamed).
I've got to post the pics of Luc playing in the water. I think he's going to have fun at the beach this summer.
We had dinner with friends on Sunday night and Luc was on his best behavior. He had a great time and got to stay up until 9 p.m.! He was a tired boy this morning.

Up all night, sleep all day.
Well, the up all night part is right. We're having a bit of a tough time with Luc at night. About 4-5 times a week, Luc is still waking up once or twice.
It would be so easy to give him a bottle and have him go right back to sleep, but we are really trying not to do that. But sometimes you feel desparate at 3 a.m.
Other than that Luc is doing really well. If we ask him what sounds the cow, cat, duck, or bird say, he usually gets it right.
He hasn't met his new little cousin yet. I'm going to bring him over to meet Ben this weekend. Luc's no longer the baby. Ben is such a cutie and seems very mellow.
I'm sure he and Luc will get into lots of trouble when they are a little bit older.

Luc loves to read!
Out little guy can't get enough of books. From the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed he is constantly bringing me books to read to him.
We usually get through a couple of pages before he requests that I quickly move on to the next tome.
If he's not reading, he wants to be outside.
That's all I've got time for today. This here at work have been extremely busy for me. I can't wait to get home and give Luc a big hug.Comments:Add a comment:
