I forgot to post Luc's stats from his 1-year doc. appt.
He weighed 22 pounds 4 ounces
He was 30.75 inches long
He's gained a little more than 15 pounds and 11 inches since he was born!
He had his MMR and chicken pox vaccines. We'll be looking for a reaction to the MMR, as it usually comes 7-12 days after the shot.Comments:Add a comment:

We made it through Christmas and Luc's 1st birthday party.
Christmas was a little overwhelming for him. We were all stuck inside because of the rain and Luc just wasn't sure what to make of all the noise.
By his party on Saturday, though, he was back to his old self. However, he didn't show any interest in presents or cake.
We are glad we went ahead with the party, but will have to get a bigger house the next time:)
Luc's vocuabulary includes the following:
dada
mama (on rare occasions)
tee (translation -- tree)
chee (translation -- cheese)Comments:Add a comment:

Happy birthday to you
happy birthday to you
happy birthday dear Lucas
happy birthday to you!
I can't believe Lucas is 1 year old today! How can it be? 365 days ago I was about to meet my darling son. I fell in love the instant I saw him. He and I cried for different reasons on Dec. 23, 2002 -- me because I was so happy and Luc because he wanted to be back in my belly.
My life has changed more than I could ever have imagined, but I am happier than ever.
We'll celebrate Luc's birthday on Sat. with family, friends and cake!Comments:Add a comment:

Okay, I know all parents say it, but I have the cutest, sweetest boy on the planet.
Luc has been in an especially good mood since yesterday afternoon. He knows where my nose is and loves to give shower mom and dad with kisses.
He is has been especially busy lately. He just has so many toys to play with and lots of books to read....

I can't believe I forgot to write about Luc's trip to see Santa on Friday. He hated it!
He cried as soon as I handed him over to Santa (who looked very friendly, by the way).
I then tried to hold Luc while standing next to Santa. Nope. We got a couple of lousy pics of me holding on to Luc who was crying hysterically!
I don't think Santa was too hurt.

I should never type things about Lucas' sleeping habits. I think he reads my entries and then decides to mix it up. Last night he was up at midnight and then he woke up at 5 a.m. and wouldn't go back down. Phil and I are pretty tired today.
I will try not to jinx myself by announcing how well Luc is sleeping.Comments:Add a comment:

Sick again!
Lucas is sick yet again. My back is really, really bad and my poor baby is sick.
The crazy thing about Luc is, when he gets sick, he doesn't mellow out and want to relax. He is the complete opposite -- he is a crazy man. I think it might be the medicine we give him, but man, he keeps his daddy and I going.
He is at daycare today, though, because I can barely lift him. I'm taking 800mg of motrin every four hours and I can't even get Luc out of his car seat. I actually have to drive to Phil's work today after I pick up Luc so that Phil can take Luc home and get him out of the carseat!
Anyway, Lucas will be 1 in 8 days! I can't believe it. He is so cute and so smart! I can't wait until I can stay home with him full time.
Let's see, what new things is Lucas doing nowadays?
-- He finally seems to have a good sleeping schedule:
Down at 8 p.m., up at 5 a.m. for bottle and back down until 7 a.m.! This has been going on for about a week now.
-- We're down to 2 bottles a day. He gets the rest of his formula from a cup. I hope to have him off the bottle by about 13 months.
-- Luc his first shoes on Sunday. They're not true shoes, as they don't have a real sole. The latest research shows that children with the healthiest feet are those that regularly go barefoot. We figure if he wants to walk around outside, he's got to have more than socks. So he has the cutest baby moccasins.
That's all for now.
P.S. U.S. caught Saddam on December 13! I just want to make a note so I don't forget the date. We were glued to our TV for details yesterday morning. Hooray!!!! One evil man down....

Luc is really taking to this walking thing!
He is all over the place now and not content to be held or crawl.
He has gone all around the house a couple of times now. Granted, our house isn't very big, but it has only been two weeks since he took his first steps.
We're getting excited for Christmas this year. We'll probably go and get a tree on Thursday -- it's still up in the air where we will put it now that Luc is walking.

We survived Thanksgiving, Luc is walking more and more and he got his first hair cut!.
Thanksgiving was fun, but a bit hectic. I think Luc was a little overwhelmed by it all. We tried to recover on Friday and then took Luc to get his first proper haircut on Saturday. He was so good.
We went to the park a lot over the long weekend. Luc loves watching the bigger kids play and he loves when Phil pushes him on the swing.
