Lucas took his first steps tonight!!!
The other day he took one unassisted step, but we didn't count that.
But tonight, he walked back and forth between Phil and I about 10 times. He was having so much fun. He can take about 4-5 steps at a time before he loses his balance. It is the funniest sight. Phil and I wish we had a video camera -- they're just a bit too expensive at the moment.
I remember Luc being so small and not even being able to hold his head up. He is growing so fast and I wish there was a way to slow time so I could savor these moments even more. They are so sweet.Comments:Add a comment:

The Crouses are recovering from a bout with the stomach flu!
Poor little Luc got sick Friday night while I was at a play. He was still a bit sick on Saturday.
Then Phil came down with the symptoms on Sunday morning, followed by myself on Monday.
We are finally on the mend, which is good because Luc is getting into everything and Phil and I need our strength:)Comments:Add a comment:

Lucas got a new walker yesterday and he loves it.
I debated about getting one, as it doesn't really "teach" them to walk. But they look like such fun, I finally gave in.

He's still doing great with sleeping -- he'll wake up occastionally but now puts himself back to sleep.

sleeping through the night at last!
We had a few rough days last week, but I think they have paid off. Lucas has slept through the night (that is until at least 5:30 a.m.) the past three nights. This is a first for him.
We finally had to be tough and not go to him at all for a few nights. It was so hard to lie in bed and listen to the poor little guy cry. I think we'll be rewarded with a happier, well-rested toddler:)
We were indoors most of the weekend. I was pretty sick on Saturday and it rained on and off.
We did manage to make it out to the park for a little fun on Sunday. Luc loves the swings. Phil swings him a bit higher than I would -- but Luc prefers that.Comments:Add a comment:

It's finally Friday. In a few hours I get to pick up Luc and spend the whole weekend with him!
I miss him terribly. I haven't been much fun the past two days because I'm sick. It's terrible not to feel like chasing after Luc. I usually enjoy getting up in the morning and playing for an hour or so. But today I dreaded it. I feel a bit like the walking dead and I just wanted to lay on the couch all day. The poor little Lucster doesn't understand:(
Luc's third bottom tooth finally poked through yesterday. It's been trying to get out for a while now and it has really been bothering the little guy. I think he's feeling much better now.
Phil and I are still working on getting Luc to sleep through the night. He is still getting up twice and letting him cry hasn't worked yet. We'll give it a few more nights. It's like he just doesn't believe we're not going to go and get him, so he keeps crying and crying. It's so sad, but we know a good night's sleep will be better for him (and us) in the long run.

We've got another tooth!
Lucas has another tooth poking through on the bottom row. He's been a little fussy lately and I think that is why.
Lucas had a great time visiting the Andersons in Victorville. He especially enjoyed chasing the little dogs around.
Luc is beginning to stand a lot more often now and seems very proud when he goes more than 5 seconds. The little guy gets into EVERYTHING. Phil and I try to keep dangerous things way out of reach -- but Luc's reach keeps changing:)Comments:Add a comment:
