Happy 1st Halloween to Lucas!
My little guy was in such a good mood today. He is starting to say "dada" directly to Phil.
We went for his 10 month checkup on the 28th.
He is 21 pounds, 10 ounces and 30 inches long.
I thought for sure he was heavier than that!
He is still a bit anemic, but we are starting him on vitamins for that.
We're going to put his fireman costume on for a bit tonight and head over to Aunt Kerri and Uncle Thomas' house.
Then tomorrow it's off to Victorville to visit Jake and Beth and the kids.Comments:Add a comment:

Oh... one more thing to add. Lucas is starting to stand without holding on to anything. It's only for a few seconds at a time, but it's so cute to watch.
He'll be holding on to someone or something and you can see him trying to decide if he should let go. After he does, he is so proud of his accomplishment -- I'm sure that he can tell he's done something good by the way Phil and I react.
Very soon (maybe by his 1st b-day) I think he'll be walking!Comments:Add a comment:

We survived the fires!
Lucas had such a rough weekend because of the fires around the Simi/Moorpark area. We took him to get his pictures taken on Saturday (so cute -- I'll post them soon). Heading back to Moorpark, smoke grew thicker the closer we got to home.
We had to keep Luc inside all afternoon as we watched the news and packed up some things.
We headed to Grandman McDonald's on Sunday to get away from the smoke.
Lucas had almost no nap on Sunday and by the evening he was miserable -- and so were we.
We finally got him down and he woke up a few times in the night. With the time change, he was up for the day at 4:45 today!
The fires seem to have moved out of our area and I took Lucas to daycare today. He seemed really happy when I dropped him off. I stayed to play with him for about 20 minutes and he didn't even seem to notice me leave.

Getting Luc's 10-month pictures done on Saturday!
I can't wait -- it's been so long since we had professional pictures done because we're just so darn busy.
We're going to get some pics in his halloween costume and some in his P.J.'s.
Luc slept until 7:15 a.m. today! Of course, he woke up at 1:30 and again at 4:45, but went down rather quickly both times. I know we're getting there.
He is just so much fun and I wish I could stay home with him full time. But we really enjoy the time we do get to spend together. Lucas is spending this afternoon with his Dad and I'm sure the boys are having fune.

Lucas had a great weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Crouse while Phil and I were on a cruise.
We enjoyed our time together, but missed our little guy. I had a hard time dropping him off at daycare today because I just got him back:(
He is doing well and getting closer and closer to walking. I have a feeling that right around his first birthday he is doing it on his own. He can now walk towards me if I am holding on to his hands and he has mastered walking along the edge of the coffee table.
I can't wait to pick him up this afternoon.Comments:Add a comment:

Holes in the heart -- bye, bye!!!
Luc had is cardiologist check-up yesterday and we received great news. Three of the four holes that were in his heart when he was born are now gone. The last hole is so small that the doctor expects it to either close completely or never cause Lucas a problem.
Phil and I are so relieved. Even though the doctor told us this would probably happen, I was still nervous until we had the ultrasound yesterday.
Meanwhile, Lucas continues to be tons of fun. Aunt Molly is out visiting and he warmed up to her really fast. He loves to play peek-a-boo with us . He'll stand at the coffee table then bend down until we can't see him -- then he'll pop back up and scream (good scream).
Oh, yes, he is really in to his voice at the moment. It is fun at home, but sometimes I get strange looks when we are out grocery shopping and my child is screaming the whole time:)Comments:Add a comment:

Haven't updated in a while because we've all been sick! We're home today because I'm still fighting my cold (had a relapse starting Sunday) but I think Phil and Lucas are on the mend. Luc had ear infection #3 and is on antibiotics.
He is a real trooper, though, and takes his medicine much better than last time. He is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. He found the cupboard with the pots and pans and he is enjoying pulling everything out.
He's finally starting to eat solids again, however, he is gagging on any finger foods I give him. I think that kid is going to be eating pureed foods forever!
Sounds like the little monster is getting up from his nap....Comments:Add a comment:

We're back from Kevin and Heather's wedding and Lucas is home! We missed him so much, but really enjoyed ourselves with our family and friends.
We were away from our baby for about 60 hours, but I think he had a really good time hanging out with his cousins.
Apparently, Luc woke Aunt Kerri and Uncle Tommy up many times at night. Besides that, however, he did fine and didn't seem to miss mom and dad too much.
Soon we will again be leaving Lucas for a few nights. I know he is going to have a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Crouse.Comments:Add a comment:

Lucas is back at daycare today. I kept him home Monday and Tuesday because he was running a fever. The only other atypical behavior he presented was not wanting to eat solids at all.
I just called his daycare and apparently he took a 3 hour nap this morning and did eat his solids for lunch. Sherry said he seems to be fine.
Other than that, Lucas is clapping a lot. It is so funny -- the trigger is if I say "Yeah!". When I say this, he'll suddenly start clapping and say something that sounds like "yeah!". I can't stop doing it. When he starts to look upset I'll say "yeah" and he'll stop what he's doing and start clapping. Too cute!Comments:Add a comment:
